Slim River Sabotage - Role Support's View

On the 3rd of October, which was a Saturday, our church had a plan going on ever since the beginning of last month. We were to go to a place which lies on the outskirts of Ipoh, between Ipoh and KL, known initially as 'Slim River'. My care group - Amity Glow - was the only group that was assigned to be on the front lines. The objective was to pay a 'planned' visit to a person who left our church a due to call of duty's work and was placed in this small town, Slim River. This person is named as Alexis and works as a dentist. She was informed that only our group of meeger 5 would only be coming. But of course, that was what she thought.

The day started as we departed from UTP at 11am, stopped by Tronoh to take-away our lunch then head to Batu Gajah Train Station by 11.50am. So our train is scheduled to arrive at 1.15pm - well then, we got down to business by planning our moves when we get there. In our group, consists of Yen Pinng(our CG leader),Mellissa,Daphnee(Mel's friend),Richard(a talkative one :D) and me. The main plan was to distract Alexis by Richard pretending to lose his handphone and get her out to help him search for it. I was selected to role-support Richard by aiding him in his act. Yen Pinng, Mel, Daph would stay at the house to keep the doors open for the 'Ambush Team' and keep the preparations in tact. After planning, we killed time by sharing ghost stories, chatting (the girls had their own conversation, I was trying to keep up with Rich xD) and also tried shooting some videos ( Try picturing a lonely road down the empty train station in the blaze of the midday sun) till the train arrives..

So on the train, the rows were 2by2. Me and Richard were SUPPOSE to sit side by side. But because Daph and Yen Pinng sat down 1st, Mel was left to sit with another 'fat man'. Richard being the gentleman, gave his seat to Mel - ending up with Richard alone with the stranger and me with Mel. LOL What was funny was, Richard said to Mel, "Hey, no problem, you're welcome, yeap." But Mel replied, "What?" I couldn't help it but to just laugh cause' Mel's being blur as ever and said to her,"I think he meant you should thank him for giving his seat to you xD".
The train ride was rather smooth, having a few stops. Even had the movie Monsters Inc. playing and it was quite funny since I have not watched it in awhile. Chatted with Mel too, to pass the time (confidential stuffs Hehehe HAHAHA :))

Upon arrival of the Slim River Station, we got down to meet Alexis already waiting there. Richard getting up to the act, said,"Eh, I go toilet 1st." So we all head over the the toilet's waiting bay and talk a few stuffs while waiting for Richard. Alexis actually was sending off 2 friends just right before we arrive. Meaning the 2 friends boarded the same train we left. So Alexis was like 'Bye bye' then 'Hi hi' xD Richard took a long time in there then finally came out. His reason - "Stomach ah, sorry about that." Then we head off to the car, but me and Richard wondered around abit to have more places to cover. While doing that, Richard told me,"You know I feel sorry for that guy on the train." I was puzzled. Then he said,"I bet that guy was like 'Oh yes, a pretty girl is gonna sit right beside me!' Then suddenly I changed seats, then he'd be like 'Awwww..'" XD

In the car, Alexis toured us around the small lil' town of Slim River. Our 1st stop was the lake. We got down and went to the lake shore to have a view. Then we started picking up rocks and throwing them. Richard and I were competiting to see who can throw furthest. Mel and Daph also tagged along but the cool thing was their throwing actions. Richard immitated each one of them to be so girly. He emphasized on Mel's : Pick up a rock, look far ahead- gaze into the distant horizon, followed by a delicate throw with just the right hand up to elbow's length swinging upwards, left arm straight, body wobbling slightly forward with legs lightly bent. And the rock travels no more than 10 feet xD Richard talked about wanting to go fishing. So with that we headed down to Alexis's favourite place to shop for necessities - Family Mart!

We looked around the place abit to find it rather small but kinda big in a small town like Slim River. We tried looking for nylon strings but couldn't find any - we did not want to anyways since we don't think we got time to fish if something big was gonna come later xD We exited the shop soon. But before that we bought ice-cream! But the thing was, Alexis said she already has ice-cream available at home. But after some convincing to get the ice we want, we step up to the paying counter. Richard being initiative, paid the ice cream himself. I was suppose to pay next but Alexis took the que and said,"Alright, I'll pay for these" and took the rest of the ice-creams "Richard already paid so it's alright." xD Richard was like "HEY" LOL

So our last stop was Alexis's humble home(after showing us abit of here and there including a what we thought an abandoned post office but still fully functional and even her workplace at a poly clinic) While in the car, we talked about our plan for the day was to sleep and relax at Alexis's place to Alexis. When we got down and unloaded our belongings and looked around abit, Richard got into phase of action. He started feeling his pockets and looking puzzled. "Eh?" was his 1st words of worry. I asked,"What? Wassup?"
Richard: My phone, where is it? (starts to look over)You guys seen it?
Me: What? Lost your phone?
YP,Mel,Daph: Huh?
Richard: Oh no. (rushes to the car and checks the seats) Hey guys where is it? Stop playing bah, I saved alot of things in there you know.
Me:No, le we didn't take. You guys took it?
YP,Mel,Daph: No ohh (They started searching over the place)
Richard: Woi guys, not kidding le, stop playin around.
Me:Didn't take! (By this time we already caught Alexis's attention with our worried and serious looks)
Alexis took some time to get the info in and finally she agreed to help Richard look for it. I tagged along. Our 1st place to search was the train station. In the car:
Me:Do you remember where you put it?
Richard: I know my phone was still with me when I was in the train. I even checked it as we got out.
Me:Could it have falled out? How much was it?
Richard: About 1k plus. Not even 1 year old man. Still new. Hey, are you trying to comfort me or what?
Me:No,no, just trying to share your pain. Wow, 1k..
(We were all adding effects to how important the phone is and what this search is for to Alexis)

When we got to the station, Richard dashed to the toilet. I got down and looked around, "Do you know what was Richard's handphone colour?"I asked Alexis. She shook her head. "I think it was glossy black." I replied, then went to the toilet to check on Richard. He was just leaning against the wall, face down xD "Ok stay here for awhile while I'll search abit with Alexis" I told him. When I got out, Alexis was already asking the people at the counter. No findings (of course) and next she went to ask the workers in charge of cleaning. Richard came out at a distance and I walked over to him to report our situation. So a total of 3 people were asked about a lost handphone. With no results obtained, we stayed and search the places we explored. After giving up on the station, we head to Slim River lake.

Upon reaching there, I sent a status report to YP saying we're at our 2nd stop. Richard and I search the places we stood before - places near the lake shore filled with grass, gravel and such. We tried searching deeply since the tall grass was a hindrance. After awhile of hard search under the sun. We agreed to head to our next stop. In the car:
Me:Hey are sure you didn't err, accidentally throw your phone into the lake?
Alexis laughed at this, lol.
Richard: No, I don't think so. Couldn't have. That would only make me look stupid.

When we got to the Family Mart, I sent another status report. So Richard got down and into the mart. We searched high and low for the missing phone. Alexis even wanted to call her friends on the train to help look for Richard just in case he misplaced his phone on the train. But Richard assured her that he still had it when he just got out of the train. While we were still in our act, I received an sms from YP stating that they all set. So that was our que to leave. So we got to our lines.
Richard: Hey, Bel. Before this I passed you my PSP together with my handphone right?
Me: Well, I know you passed me your PnW papers, PSP...but I'm not sure about your handphone.
Richard: Don't have mer? I thought that I remembered got something like that?
Me: I don't know. Your PSP casing was also black and so is your phone. I just accepted whatever you give me then just slip them into my bag.
Alexis still being determined and persistent to search, insisted that she calls YP to ask check the bags if they can find Richard's hp. Then we waited for YP's reply. Then, Alexis's hp rang and she answered. Soon enough, a smile broaden her face and said "Ok hold on, I'll let Richard hear this." and pass the phone to Richard. Obviously they had already found the phone in my bag. Richard being shocked pass the phone to me. I was also shocked and asked "Which compartment did you find it?" YP replied "The side one,haha"(But my bag doesn't have any side compartments, so oh well.) I just laughed back and said thanks.

Richard was feeling shocked and stupid at the same time while in the car. He also kept blaming me that I had forgotten I had placed the phone in my bag. I just kept saying "Sorry la, I know I'm getting old!" Richard also kept apologizing to Alexis for wasting her petrol and time over this wild goose chase. But Alexis was really happy to have found something which what was thought to be lost and has been found. So we had a happy drive back home to Alexis's house. After reaching her place with just YP in sight, Alexis did a steady reverse parking into her car poarch. And as we got out...
SUDDENLY A BUNCH OF HUNGRY MAD PEOPLE WITH COLOURED WATER BOMBS RUSHED INTO THE SCENE. Alexis 'screamed' and ran into the streets. I said to the mad Ambush Team,"Go, Go! Don't waste it!" Hahaha Alexis soon was subdued to the capture and got all wet! Me and Richard kept smiling. When Alexis got back into the driveway, she asked:
Alexis: Richard, your phone wasn't lost all along? It was an act?
Richard: Yeap(broad smiles)
Alexis: And you Belden, you were playing all the way?You knew?
Me:Hahaha xD
Alexis: I thought Belden was a good boy, now I know the real youu.
Me:I was forced! !
Alexis: Oh my, I don't know what to say, I'm really surprise.
Vern: So how do you feel?
Alexis: I feel... I got punk'd!
Everyone: Woooooot~ claps*

The Ambush Team consists of Bui, Vern(Leader), Javier, Teck Kiong, Jenny, Witton, David, Gilberth, Josmith and Wong Ning. They actually embarked much earlier than us for the cause of preparation - namely the water balloons, heard they prepared it at a Petronas gas station near Slim River. Vern also mentioned there was once when Alexis's car with me and Richard inside passed by the White Toyota van which carried the Ambush Team. The people in the van were holding their breaths and hoped Alexis didn't see them. Fortunately, Alexis was looking another way. Just right after that, Vern received a call from YP saying that they just left. Overexcited by the coincidence, Vern gave the orders "GO GO GO!" and off they went to prepare the things at Alexis's house. Time effective!

But of course, this visit is rather special. Vern came out to the car poarch to present a small cake with a candle placed on it. And there goes the B'day song. After that, the tradition to pull the candle out of the cake starts. Vern held the cake for Alexis. But Alexis felt insecure and asked if she can hold the cake. At first, nope, not allowed. So Bui and Vern held down her arms. But after awhile we gave in and let her hold it. But the process was rather slow because every moment she brought the cake close to her face, she would look around and smile - eyeing our every actions. But soon enough, Teck Kiong popped out from the side and shoved the cave to her face with Vern's help. Cream-drenched-faced dragged the nearst person to be one of her - Bui. Then me t.t And the infection spreaded fast.

But darn it the cake was hard to wash off! xD We even offered Alexis to personally punish Richard by holding him down and wet him with water bombs. After fun dirtying each other outside (Even Alexis's colleagues next door wondered what's all the commotion about) we cleaned up. I had to use David's shampoo to wash my hair before entering the house. Bui was drenched in multi coloured cream on the side of his face. Nearly made him look like Two-Face from the Dark Knight XD Alexis told them about wanting to call the 2 people on the train to help search for Richard's phone earlier. But Vern added truth to her that the 2 people on the train already knew about this plan, so even though if Alexis were to call them, they wouldn't bother to search for the missing phone. At this point Alexis was like - Don't know who to trust already xD

But it wasn't over yet, Vern came back for a 2nd round of cake, this time even larger and heart-shaped. Alexis was paranoid whether that was gonna be slammed to her face. We said yea, we still got a 3rd cake in the fridge. No la just kidding xD - Butter creamed cake made me sick...

We took turns to bath, Alexis took longest to bath cause' she had cake stucked in her hair loll. We ate some good junks there. I spilled 100 plus while pouring it into a cup I was balancing between my lap. It fell of course since my legs were not 90degrees perpendicular to the ground. Whoops xD(Niub) We chat around and even ate mooncakes. And were also shown a video we all made in coordination of Alexis's transfer to Slim River. We all had prepared a survival kit for her last semester. Before we left, we all signed her Visitor's book on a page she titled - UTPians Sabotage. We all took shifts to draw our sigs. I drew Richard's hp for him and he wrote there "Where's my phone below it?" lol. I was given the middle part to draw. After I finished my sig, Javier said,"Wah, yours so gaya, now I don't feel like putting down my sig since mine would look so.." Richard also added," Yealo, you should've done yours last la, now everyone like no mood to put down." I was like,"What?! You guys like, didn't put down so I put down 1st loo."

We left the house after taking a few group shots in the evening. The journey back to UTP was abit long. I was with Teck Kiong, Gilberth and Josmith. The girls travelled in Alexis's car. Bui and the rest went with the van. But due to time constraint, the van was to head straight back to church for the Praise and Worship team to practice for the Sunday service. So poor Bui could not afford to join dinner with us. Because we stopped at Kampar's famous restaurant on the way back! Alexis ordered their famous curry chicken bread and 3 other sumptious dishes. Alot of people that night too, since it was mooncake night. Alot of weddings held too. The dinner amounted to RM163 if I'm not mistaken. But good ol' Alexis paid for us even though we insisted on paying her back. Her reply,"Give your money to God during your tithings at church tomorrow and that would be enough to pay me back." LOL

So we reached back at UTP at around 9.30pm. It was a long night, Teck Kiong complained his seat was rather hot (could be heat dissipation of the engine probs.) and it was drizzling alil but the screen was rather blur so we had to follow backlights of cars to see the road xD Daphnee prepared sandwiches for us for the trip back too. Sardine I think the flavour was. Yea, real tired that night. But fun yea, yea? Yea. :D With our exams coming soon, we're still busy with our lives haha!
