23 hours

First and foremost, I bid a very warm greeting and salutations to all potatoslammers and readers of this humble blog. It has been a very long time since I posted an article myself and apologies for such that this blog is like a dead blog. I do however come here whenever I have the chance. It’s really hard to get internet here. Although we do not crave for attention, PLEASE DO NOT FORGET US! >:D

Ahem - So the morning began with a friday 8am wakeup call from my handphone but I was already half awake half an hour earlier caused by the rays of sunshine that seep through my room curtains. The cold morning shower definitely did not help calm my nerves. Class started from 8.30am kicking off with French lessons and ending with Math lecture till 1pm. Friday’s the best because I have the least lessons on that day. Everyone here does. So I ate lunch, which consists of only 2 roti canai <- small appetite.

My Arabian lecturer came over and said, “So that’s enough for your lunch eh?” to which I could only reply bluntly “Yea!” and smiled. Gotta love them roti canais! Apparently the foreign lecturers believe that the hearts of Malaysians lie in the large amount of food they eat! :)

My jaw became sore after lunch. Damage dealt by the cold roti canai, an alternative way to chew gum thanks. Ok, 2pm maybe I could get some rest. Apart from being disturbed by incoming smses and chatter of roommates, my rest was........ was cut really short when one of my teammates named Muz called me 30mins later, saying “Masa dah sampai. Cepatlah! Saya di bawah.” So I got ready and called up my other teammates.

DOTA match:
Muz drove us to a nearby cybercafé at which we waited 15mins for the other team to arrive. I did not expect much of this besides losing. Muz was the captain. Don’t know why not me :/ and so we played 2 dota draft games against the other team who was from a renowned university. Lost both mainly due to the reason that one of our teammates left twice because the computers there were so rotten that they could crash ever so often for a price of 2.50/hr -.-"

A few other reasons we lost because proly there was a lack of cooperation among our team. pffft it was assembled for not more than a few days before and we barely practised with each other: 2 Malays and 3 Chinese. And proly because I did not give any commands to lead the team since I’m the one who usually call the shots....ok always..hey I thought the captain would do it but he did not.

We were all playing selfish! XD overall it was boring and poorly played. And what makes it more irritating is that after every game, Muz and the other team would step out and smoke a round of cigarettes while we “burn” our money. The other team wasn’t that good in skill to be frank, just that they had cooperation that makes them whole.

But I kept laughing at the mistakes we made and the unbelievable stunts we could pull off such like my noob teammates could do something amazingly pro so I knew those moments weren’t a waste! xD

With that done it was around 6pm already when I got back. The whole of Pre-france 7 students knew of our match and haha we lost! Like terribly to the students of GMI (some german mara institute). So I took my shower, dinner, and then played one round of dota with friends until midnight struck. That’s when it was time for FUTSAL!

*6hours ago*
Koon Soon: Hey Hayden wanna play futsal with us later?
Hayden: errr..
Koon Soon: Today bah we play against seniors.
Hayden: See first ba cuz I really suck at football.
Koon Soon: Nevermind la cuz now we not enough players, think only 8 people. Need 2 more. Hayden: Hmm, what time arh?
Koon Soon: 1am to 3am
Hayden: ONE AM TO THREE AM(WTF)WHY SO LATE??? Ok sure count me in.

FUTSAL match:
Muz drove us to a futsal court nearby our uni. So there were like 5 chinese and 10 malays from pre-france 7 to play against our seniors from pre-france 6 and 2 lecturers. When I got there, there were 4 courts but all fully occupied.

Futsal is like football played in a small court nearly the size of a basketball court. The style of rules they played here is that there is no outline, unless the ball is kicked towards outlines of goals. There’s no corner kicks and you can use walls to your advantage. And here it’s possible to score a goal from halfcourt range. A total of 10 persons would enter the court to chase a football. Even though the court is smaller, it’s a really fast-paced game.

Our game was pre-booked from 1am to 3am. I was the only one there who came in big, bulky basketball shoes so I knew I was never meant to be here. Apart from that it was like 6 months since I actually kicked a football. So the first match was our starting “nearly-best 5” of pre-france 7 against pre-france 6 seniors. The first to 2 goals wins the match and a swap of teams would occur. When the game started, I was by far really awed at how good their footwork and ball control was.

In comparison, I was definitely the n00b here. Both teams have really amazing players. For instance pre-france 6 seniors have a goalkeeper representing Malaysia. To par with that level, pre-france 7’s goalkeeper is state-level x) After a moment, pre-france 6 reigned victorious easily with 2-0. Then it was another pre-france 7 team to fight against them. However the pre-france 6 remained undefeated.

After that the time came for my “debut”. My team consists of 4 chinese and 1 malay. We were definitely the underdog team and were playing up against pre-france 6 team who had 2 lecturers at pro level. The first round I did extremely badly :( I only intended to play defence as I had really poor control of footwork and football dribbling. I made efforts to run here and there as if I’m trying to get open for the pass. My true intention was to remain invisible though so eventually I would hide behind an opponent to avoid the passes.

Yes, we lost as expected and I utterly embarrassed myself. And yes that’s why I chose basketball because I have greater control over my hands than my legs. The more I watch the other matches, the more I became amazed at how fast they can react with their footwork it’s like they’re dancing. However the winning streak of pre-france 6 was broken in the 3rd rematch and pre-france 7 showed their true potential. I have 2 malay friends who are shorter and smaller than me but you wouldn’t believe how fast and explosive they could play. One of them was a very good playmaker, dribbling the ball towards the goal and then passing it at the right moment so that his teammate could score the goal. They played the 1-2 strategy really well.
->Or proly just because I’m really n00b that I’m giving them too much praise -.-"

But hey if you’re a first timer and tried the sport yourself, you’d then realized how good those guys are and how much practice it would take to acquire those skills. The Malaysian-level goalkeeper showed his skills by blocking goals after goals consecutively with his agile reflexes. So the games were scheduled from 1-3am but we got so “suang” that they decided to extend it to another hour.

I played 4 times during the intervals, each time getting better and better tho I did some stupid things like dribbling the ball until the outline and kicking the ball at my seniors face (ouch!). I kept dashing for defence and managed to deflect a few balls as well as steal some. My friends note me for being speedy. YEAH babeh! >:D

Overall it was enjoyable but extremely tiring. I felt my legs giving in on me when I finished playing the 3rd round. Yea, my legs were about to disobey me. Bad bad hayden legs.
We had to keep running back and forth, as well as left and right a lot. My friends were all drenched in sweat. “wa dude we haven’t finished playing you go bath liaw arh?” when one of my friends looked like he literally came out a swimming pool. x)

We played till 4am and went back after a gg. However we felt hungry and decided to eat at a mamak stall. During then, we were deciding what to do next. We concluded that after eating, we can’t sleep immediately. Another reason to support is that after bathing we can’t sleep immediately either. So how do we pass the time?

DOTA!

Amazingly, we were still energetic with the adrenaline still burning from the futsal matches. We played one round of dota. When we finished it was already 7.30am in the morning. My other roommates (who didn’t go to the futsal match) were sleeping soundly. When I JUST entered bed to sleep, one of my roommates got up. So the hard part is... “good morning” or “good night”? haha.

He usually wakes up at this time just to study (omg even on weekends!). So I slept until saturday 1pm, only to be awakened by the disturbing sounds of rapid mouse-clicks -.-“ I didn’t have any photos to post mainly because I didn’t bother to bring my handphone around so, sorry to those guys who hate reading long posts! >:D

Thanks for reading everyone, have a bonne journée(nice day)!
Tchao!
un sentiment d'espoir pour vous, hach :)

Well its still underdevelopment, bringing in teams in from our school to compete, playing in the correct orientation and condition. Here's some info about it,

Playing e-sports, in the good time good place good condition, like got enough lighting etc etc, promoting good gaming with no bad influence, no bad ideas and racism. Improving sportsmanship/gamesmanship between players and spectators alike and

etc etc etc (forgot what to say already)

Well, so far, bringing some games into it, 1st stop is the Defense of the Ancient. next is the WII tennis. Well so far we got these only, now scouting teams into the league for defense of the Ancient. So far got 3 teams up and ready for this, hoping to pull it up to five.

Another thing is, since there's many peeps who's been gaming here, (i mean MANY) im off to post up the results up here xD, going to add the league standings, posting up the replays and i hope ya all can support it and give comments!!

The League going to start off after march, for a period about 2 to 3 months i guess. hope its going to be a big hit xD, bah till next time again, SLAM!
